To:ka

to:ka was born sometime in the spring in new york state in 2009. the estimate was likely in april, so he was a spring baby.

he was a rescue dog and was the only dog in the shelter who didnt have a name. his name is in the kanienkehaka (people of the flint, keepers of the eastern door, mohawk) language and it means "i dont know".

like the springtime to:ka was an exceptional dog full of a clean, good energy and light. he demonstrated compassion, empathy, curiosity, intelligence, kindness, joy, resilience, and an unbreakable spirit.

he loved people and other dogs, he loved to roll on the grass, he loved to roam be free and sniff stuff out. he deserved far better than his person could give him, but she loved him with all of her heart even if not with all of her actions.

he is survived by a younger brother, enzo 11 years 11 months and 23 days of age, and a younger sister, oma 2 years and 7 months of age. he is also survived by his person, bobbie dee, 53 years 9 months and 26 days of age.

his person went from being 38 years old to being 53 years old with to:ka as a constant companion. he witnessed all the good and bad, and worst and best of his person. he saved her life more than once and taught her that compassion is not exclusively a human trait. he always forgave her failings and believed she was better than what she was.

to:ka died aged 15 years and 5 months of age at 1225 pm on wednesday the 18th of september 2024. it rained all day.

he now lives forever inside his person's heart and in the spirit world.
