Hi Jo,

Sorry that you are having such a tough time at the moment and so so sorry for your loss. He was so young and it is not fair. As you say, there really isn't a set time for grieving and for recovery and healing and it varies for everyone. The most important thing is to keep being honest about and sharing your feelings with people that understand, to take positive steps towards recovery but not to feel bad if you have a bad day or need to cry, and to take it one day at a time. It sounds cliche but it is really the only way forward. Please remember that you can speak to the trained volunteers at the Pet Bereavement Support Service if you feel it will help and also consider joining the new Pet Loss Support Online Surgery we are running. Details of both of these can be found in the Pet Loss Support section of this website.
