We have just lost our darling siamese boy Howard today and I don't think I have been able to stop crying every 10 minutes. Howard was only 10 months old and was diagnosed with mediastinal lymphoma back in July 2018. At the time, we knew that chemo would not cure his cancer but we had high hopes that it would help shrink the cancer and give him a good period of good quality life. Chemo worked a treat initially and he went back to his usual playful self, terrorising his older sister and constantly trying to eat her food. Howard loves jumping on things and his favourite perch was the top of the scratching pole and it never fails to bring a smile to my face when he tries to scrabble up the pole to get onto the top. When his symptoms came back 2 weeks ago, we were in denial, hoping that it was just a cold, or an upset stomach but he just got weaker and weaker and over the last two days, he stopped eating and started to have trouble walking. We went to the vet and X-rays showed the cancer came back and is now pressing his airway, lungs and stomach and the prognosis is fairly poor. We knew that it was time to let him go but it was never an easy decision. We said good bye to our darling boy today but he will be missed everyday. His sister has been wandering around crying all afternoon looking for Howard and I am sure she will miss him too. You have come into our lives and stole our heart and we will miss you, my darling boy. Howard's loving dad. |

Hello Howard's Dad,
I have just read your wonderful words about your precious boy Howard. Although he was only on this earth for a short time, what a fantastic, loving home you gave him.
I realise several months have now passed, but I just wanted to say hello and thank you for your lovely post; it is so moving and heartfelt.
Always remember, there are many like-minded people on the Ralph Site site/ facebook private group, here to share experiences, support and comfort.
Take care, and I hope his sister is doing well.
